The sintered/extruded carbon block filter element (CTO) uses high-density activated carbon and exclusive inert adhesives as main materials of construction.
The large granular surface area has a tremendous capacity to remove chlorine, unpleasant odors,
colors as well as spores and microorganisms. Our unique manufacturing techniques and material
of the highest quality guarantee excellent durability, minimal pressure loss and high filtration rate.
CTO filter element is made of anthracite, coconut, acid washed, or silver-impregnated activated carbon. Coconut shell carbon has a better filtration effect upon chemicals
such as trihalomethanes. Standard CTO filter element is single open end. Various end cap style CTO
filter elements are also available.
Anthracite Activated Carbon-As an effective adsorbent for a wide variety of organic contaminants removal, such as herbicides,
pesticides, industrial chemicals, chlorine, odor and color.
Coconut Shell Activated Carbon-Natural pure coconut shell, provides a significantly higher volume of micropores and lower ash
content than anthracite carbon. As a result, it is more effective than other carbon types in removing
trihalomethanes (THM'S) and other chemicals.
Acid washed Activated Carbon- higher adsorb ability and lower ash content when compared
with general activated carbon.
Silver-impregnated Activated Carbon-0.15%-0.2% silver ion is added to inhibit growth of
bacteria, spores and microorganisms.
